Time in the Late Quantum Universe

Quantum evolution does not generally admit a consistent, step-by-step description in classical probabilities. In The Quantum Composition Paradox, Jacob Biamonte characterizes when such a description is possible. His theory of compositional quantum music turns these consistency constraints into a grammar for rhythm. This piece draws on three permitted observation schedules for a three-step quantum passage—3, 2+1 and 1+1+1—that preserve the same final probability distribution over sounds despite different intermediate observations. Simulated quantum readouts shape a melodic and rhythmic layer within composed harmonies and percussion. Sound emerges from silence, gathers into patterns and gradually disappears: a musical image of order forming within uncertainty, until even uncertainty fades and time loses its meaning.
